Ketupat Kandangan is a typical culinary from Kandangan, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, South Kalimantan Province.

Like diamond shaped rice cake in general, the ingredients comes from rice and use haruan fish as a complementary menu. Where the fish is grilled before being cooked using coconut milk, then the fish and its sauce are poured to the rice cake.

Uniquely, the rice cake in this area is not like the fluffier Javanese rice cakes, but the texture is somewhat loose. The way to eat it is also quite unique. First, rice cakes squeezed by hand, when it already mixed with coconut milk sauce, then can be eaten.

Ketupat Kandangan, besides being available in Kandangan, Regency of Hulu Sungai Selatan, is also available in other Cities and Regencies in South Kalimantan.
