Sei Kambang Schist Stone

The Sei Kambang Schist Stone is in Awang Bangkal Village, Aranio District, Banjar Regency. It is 22 km from Banjarbaru City by motorcycle and car. Located in an Riam Kanan River, It was a result of earth events (geology) which is composed of baroisite schist rocks which are part of the Metamorphic Rock Group aged 180-182 million years ago (Middle Jurassic). Barroisite mineral is included in the category of rare minerals found in metamorphic rocks of the blueschist facies, based on research that metamorphic rocks from the Meratus Complex experience high-pressure epidote conditions of the blueschist facies before the peak metamorphism of the epidote-amphibolite facies, so that the metamorphic rocks of the blueschist facies are considered as a subduction zone fossil marker.
