The Riam Kanan Lake Fishery is in the Riam Kanan Lake area, Tiwingan Lama Village, Aranio District, Banjar Regency. It is 1 km from the Tiwingan Hill Landslide, by an engine boat or what the local community calls “Klotok”. It used to be a valley area, composed of rocks from earth events (geology) originating from the Metamorphic Rock Group aged 180-135 million years ago (Middle-Late Jurassic), have become a lake since the construction of the Riam Kanan dam which was completed approximately in 1973. It portrays the culture of fish farming using a cage system in the form of a box-shaped basket made of wood and floats on the lake and equipped with a traditional banjar house named a lanting house (a house that floats). The type of fish that cultivated are carp and tilapia, this fishery supplies markets in the City of Banjarbaru, Martapura and Banjarmasin.
