Pinus Island is in the Riam Kanan Lake, Tiwingan Lama Village, Aranio District, Banjar Regency. It is 1,4 km from Bekantan Island by an engine boat or called by the local community as “Klotok”. It was a result of earth events (geology) in the form of volcanic activity originating from the Paau Formation was 59-65 million years ago (Late Cretaceous), is an island in Riam Kanan Lake. There are dozens old pine trees. It was refuge shelter for residents who originally lived in the valley before being turned into a lake. It was chosen because it has a high topography to avoids water. The island was originally barren so to accelerate the adaptation of the residents, the pine trees was deliberately planted due to the poor nutrients soil conditions. Now Pinus Island is not just a place for residents to live, but as a tourist destination with various facilities such as a play area and camping area for visitors who want to enjoy the beauty of Riam Kanan Lake.
