Kembang Monkey Island or also known as Kembang Monkey Natural Tourism Park is in Pulau Alalak Village, Alalak District, Barito Kuala Regency. This location 5 km away from the Banjar Traditional House by engine boat or “Klotok”. The location which is the result of the Barito River delta deposition process in the form of a bar (island in the middle of the river) is a habitat for long-tailed macaques and some birds. This island has been a tourist destination since the Dutch East Indies era around 1920-1942, where the island is called by “Meneer Belanda” (the Dutch) as Apeneiland or the Island of the Monkeys. If tourists enter this island, they will find an altar inhabited by a pair of White Monkey Statues, which the local community then uses as a place for people to make vows, where people who come to the island bring offerings such as bananas, eggs, sticky rice and so on. These offerings are accompanied by betel nut and flowers that were given to a herd of monkeys.
