Historical Coal Mine is in Lok Tunggul Village, Pengaron District, Banjar Regency. It is 5 km from the Coal Outcrop site by motorcycle or car. This region was included in Kayutangi Residency of the Banjar Sultanate, and the first coal mining site that was successfully carried out by the Dutch in Kalimantan, even Indonesia, and became the oldest coal mine in Indonesia. This region was inaugurated by the Government of the Dutch East Indies Governor General Jan Jacob Rochussen in 1849 under the name of the Oranje Nassau Coal Mine (Golden Fort), where all the mining products were used for the Dutch navy. An area of approximately 169.6 m2 is located in the hills of Mount Pangaron and flanked by the Riam Kiwa and Maniapun Rivers, and based on earth events (geology). It was composed of the Tanjung Formation which is 65-36.5 million years ago (Eocene) and one of the rock formations that produce high-quality coal finally stopped operating after the Banjar War in 1859-1905. This location has been designated as a Cultural Heritage under the name of the Oranje Nassau Mine Cultural Heritage Area and the Banjar Pengaron War (Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 11 of 2010 concerning Cultural Heritage)
