It is a type of non-volcanic hot spring characterized by high temperatures and pH close to neutral as a result of the reaction of water with local rocks around.

Based on previous studies, the presence of diamonds in the Cempaka Mine is divided into 3 groups:
- Diamonds comes from carrier rock, which is a series of ophiolite products.
- Formed due to subduction processes that occur and are exposed to the surface through kimberlit or lamprorite pipes.
- Derived from the ancient river flow when the Schwaner and Gondwana Complex is still a unit on the Final Jurassic.
