The Bubungan Tinggi and Gajah Baliku Traditional Houses are in Teluk Selong Ulu Village, Martapura Barat District, Banjar Regency. It is 9 km from Banjarbaru City by motorcycle or car. It just 60 meters from the Martapura River. It was built in 1811 AD by HM Arif and his wife Hj. Fatimah, there are 2 types of traditional Banjarese type houses, named the Bubungan Tinggi and the Gajah Baliku Houses, both facing river, as part custom of the Banjar tribe. It was once used as a headquarters and training ground by independent fighter or TKR. In 2015 this building was designated as a Cultural Heritage and Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This is the beginning of the North Route “Following the Sound of the Wind to Magic of Dayak Meratus”.
